One hundred years of the NFU has come alive in the form of a new book - From Campbell to Kendall: A history of the NFU.

The lavishly illustrated 208-page hardback charts one hundred years of history by focussing on the Book cover33 men who have occupied the Presidency of the NFU, personal views and reflections on agriculture in their day as well as anecdotes from  members and staff.

As these men were also both countrymen and farmers, there is also an opportunity to examine how agriculture and the countryside have changed over the last century.

The book has been written by award-winning Essex farmer and NFU member Guy Smith, who has spent the last few years researching and delving deep into the organisation's history.

Members of the press gathered at NFU HQ this morning - the opening day of the Royal Show - to hear Guy talk about the book.

Profiles of past presidents can be seen on www.nfu100.com along with some text from the book.
